Just
a Picture
Thank you
for visiting this section of my web site. What you'll find here
is not information about me, but information about the true artist
behind the pictures. I did not create the subject matter, I simply
captured it for a moment in certain light from a certain angle.
The true artist behind each of these pictures is Jesus Christ.
In the Bible, speaking of Jesus, Colossians 1:16 says, "for by
Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers
or authorities - all things have been created through Him and
for Him."
Why did I
create this section of the web site? I wanted to declare to you
the glory of God. The glory truly belongs to God, yet as human
beings we consistently take glory for ourselves. God has a name
for this self-seeking, take-all-the-glory-for-myself attitude,
it's called sin. And sin separates each one of us from God - "For
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
Even worse than sin, is its consequence: "for the wages of sin
is death" (Romans 6:23a). Right now you might be thinking, "Amy,
this sounds harsh - death! Are you serious!" I am absolutely serious,
God's Word does not lie. But God took interest in our predicament
because He is a loving creator, and He wants his creation to be
with Him for eternity. This is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
Jesus Christ
came to this world approximately 2000 years ago, not just to be
a good teacher, not just to set a great example of how to live
our lives, but to be a sacrifice for our sin. To remove our guilt
and make us acceptable to God. Our sin makes us completely unacceptable
to God. Many people think they can make themselves acceptable
to God by doing good things, thinking, "If my good works outweigh
my bad works, then God will accept me." Unfortunately this also
is untrue. The Bible declares, "For by grace you have been saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
not as a result of works, so that no one may boast" (Ephesians
2:8,9). The only way to become acceptable to God is to accept,
by faith, His son Jesus Christ. Jesus told us, "I am the way,
and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through
Me" (John 14:6). The language sounds exclusive. It is! "There
is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under
heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved"
(Acts 4:12).
God is graciously
extending to you the gift of His Son. In order to receive Christ,
and know that your sins are forgiven and that your eternal home
will be in heaven and not in hell, God offers a simple plan. Admit
that you're a sinner. As was stated before, "all have sinned."
Be honest with yourself and be honest with God and admit that
to Him. Believe in the gospel - the good news. First Corinthians
15:3-5 tells us that the gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection
of Christ. You are not 2000 years old. You didn't see Jesus rise
from the dead. You're going to have to believe it because God's
Word says it. Finally, you need to turn away from your unbelief
and turn towards God as the only way of salvation. You can do
this simply by talking to God. The Bible calls talking to God
- prayer. You can call on God right now and know that you're sins
are forgiven. "For 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord
will be saved'" (Romans 10:13). You can call on God by using the
simple model prayer below:
God, I know
that I'm a sinner and I deserve Your eternal punishment for
what I have done. But God, I believe that you died on the cross
from my sins, I believe that you were buried and that you rose
again the third day. I turn away from my sin, I turn away from
my unbelief, and I turn to you as the only way of salvation.
Jesus, come live in my life, be the master and leader of my
life. I ask these things in Jesus name.

I pray that
God will open your eyes to see the "picture" presented in the
gift of His Son, Jesus Christ!
